OK story. I think it is supposed to be Scottish/HIghland themed but this story could have been staged in any period with any particular theme and would not make any difference.
The best part of the book is Donna Fletcher's way of telling a story. It was easy to continue and the prose flowed naturally. The story itself is plain, characters unmemorable, but easy to like. Little angst and struggle. I probably won't read it again. I have read the youngest brother's story before this book, which is the oldest brother's story. I do like them as characters, but will not continue reading the rest of the seriess, unless the prices are reduced significantly.
