Lisa Kleypas is after all, Lisa Kleypas. And I meant that as a compliment.
The story itself is very bland. I do not like this sereis from Lisa Kleypas much. This Russian theme did not work for me and that goes for both stories. I think it is the characters. They cannot hold my interest. This is when I say: I just don't care what happens to them.
The Russian prince is the hero, who by all standards is a brooding man, a blood relative of the heroin from the first book in the series. The heroin is the daughter from the hero of the first book in the series. I do not mind that hero somehow was attracted to the young heroin in her youth. I do not even mind the paranormal bit in this story, how they were husband and wife in a past life, posing as hero's grandfather and grandmother.
I just......don't care for the characters.
But Lisa Kleypas is Lisa Kleypas after all. Her writing is still good. The story flows naturally and as a reader I enjoyed reading her writing. I did not struggle to push myself through the book. Overall a 3 stars book. It is not on par with "Dreaming of you" or "Someone to watch over me". It features Lisa's signature writing but with a very blah story and 2 boring characters.
