Ahhh I am taking a break from medieval novels after I read this book.
The book has a promising beginning. I was taken to Ms Jordan's prose right away. Then I started waiting for the romance to begin. 40-50% into the book and I still don't see how there is anything romantic between them. Lust is not love. For a romance novel to succeed, you have to give us readers the feeling that they move past lust. Hero is a bully and heroin is a idiotic ninny who believes she has to act tough and protect her people and pledge loyalty to her father, and she does it to piss off her the hero. Enough already. You want to fight please do make sense.
I so wanted to like it. But now it is jut 2 stars barely.
